A long story short. We are a family of four who are moving onto the S/V Bilancia, a 42 foot Manta Catamaran. This isn’t our first (mis?)adventure aboard a sailboat however. Our first vessel was a 38 foot Prout Catamaran, named the S/V Moerae.
We found out we were pregnant with our first child two months after moving aboard. We spent the next three years sailing throughout the Caribbean and having some incredibly trying days and some unbelievably epic days. Such is sailing!
Two kiddos later and we have decided we belong to the sea, at least for several months of the year. So here we go again with two extra deck hands (ages 7 and 10) and our extra large GoldenDoodle, Sampson.
I hope that this blog shows the reality of living aboard and all that it encompasses. From the trials of homeschooling, high seas, and boat maintenance to the beauty of a calm ocean, isolated beaches, and sucking the marrow from this ride called life. I hope you follow us!

Well done for doing this. Epic!
